Alaric is the King of the Visigoths and uncle of Aric Dacia, a 5th Century Visigoth lost in the modern age who possesses the X-O Manowar, the most powerful weapon in the universe.

Alaric, the king-of-all, originally desired to settle his people in the Roman Empire, but he finally sacked the city, which marked the decline of imperial power in the west.
Retribution Prologue
In 408 AD in the village of Rieti in Northern Italy, Alaric chastised his nephew, Aric Dacia, and his best friend, Gafti, for recklessly beheading a pair of Roman Centurions. As Alaric reminded Aric that they were not there for him to exact his revenge against the Romans for killing his parents, Rolf Dacia and Inga Dacia, he ordered him to take what they needed and put the rest to the torch as was the Goth way.
