Paul Bouvier is a colleague of Randy Cartier from when she served in the Canadian Secret Service under Department W. During a rescue mission to save Aric Dacia and his incapacitated Manowar Class Armor from the Spider Aliens, an alien bites Paul and he looses his leg. As the venom continues to course through Paul’s system unabated, it slowly kills him.

Upon hearing about the destruction of Shanhara, Phil Seleski, the hero called Solar, fetches an X-O Manowar Seed from the armor of a fallen Spider Soldier in Saturn, and gives it to Aric. As the seed requires a sentient life form in order to grow a new armor through a joining that calls for the host to sacrifice their body, Paul chooses to become the armor’s host.

Paul’s sacrifice gives birth to Pol-Bekhara.

Alloy

When Paul Bouvier sacrifices his life to give Aric the Pol-Bekhara armor, his consciousness survives the joining and Aric Dacia expels him from his armor. Shortly, Paul reanimates Shanhara and becomes Alloy, then he sets out on a quest to destroy Aric, who he blames for destroying his life.
