Deke is a simple minded member of the Bayou Cannibals, a family of rednecks that live in the bayou who kidna and torment any innocent man or woman that gets lost in it who suffers from a stutter that prevents him from forming full sentences without stopping mid-sentence.
When Shadowman comes to the cannibal’s home looking for Nettie, a neighboring family kills the Bayou Cannibals in retaliation for the abduction and murder of their daughter, including Deke.
