When Crescendo destroys Orb Industries, scientists working on creating a new kind of man abandon their laboratory and leave experiment 13 (codename Lummox) imprisoned underground.
Freed sometime later by a boy named Berndt, Lummox sets out to find Aric Dacia, who he thinks is responsible for what happened to him. Finding Aric in Europe purely by accident, Lummox attacks him, but Aric easily defeats him.
When Crescendo gathers Aric's foes, Lummox joins them for what turns out to be a very brief attack in which Aric takes him out with one single punch.
