After Earth repels the Malev Invasion of 4002 AD, it has to deal with an invasion of a different sort from the Psi–Lords, the vastly different 41st Century descendants of the HARD Corps.
After the Harbinger Wars are settled in 2989 A.D., the members of the HARD Corps abandon the Earth to find another planet to colonize, and as generations of them grow old and die as their ship travels through the stars, they evolve into the Psi–Lords.
A polyglot of all races, the golden-skinned Psi–Lords develop their own nanotechnology and possess microscopic machines within their brains that contain the Harbinger Powers Database, which they can call on by mentally willing themselves to have them, a feat that in effect turns them into Omega Harbingers.
Due to a traumatic event in their past, the Psi–Lords hard–wire a directive into their brains against killing, as well as limit the number of powers each individual can access, a decision that divides them into a caste system made up of three power classes; strength and invulnerability, energy projectors, and scouts.
Despite their great science, the Psi–Lords are a sterile race incapable of having children.
