Stephen Victor Tallarico, better known as Steven Tyler (and often nicknamed The Demon of Screamin') was an American musician and songwriter. He was best known for his work as the lead singer of the Boston-based rock band Aerosmith.
Tyler was known for his raw, sharp-edged vocals and was musically versatile, playing a wide range of instruments, including the harmonica, keyboards, and several percussion instruments. In the 1970s and early 1980s, Tyler was also known for his heavy drug and alcohol abuse, though he completed drug rehabilitation in 1986 and has since maintained sobriety for over 20 years. Tyler was a prolific frontman, rock icon, and sex symbol. During his high-energy stage performances, he usually dressed in bright colorful outfits with his trademark scarves hanging from his microphone stand.
